Daily Prayers

Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father; and of the Son; and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose from the dead. He ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen!

The Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen

The Glory Be To The Father

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen!

Consecration to the Holy Spirit

Dear Holy Spirit, you are my friend. I give you myself. I ask you to dwell deeply inside of me and make me holy. I want to know the fire of God’s love. I want to love God with all my heart. Amen!

Glory to God in the highest

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth. Lord God heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us; you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen

Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God. Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sakes he was crucified under Pontius Pilot; he suffered, died and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son; he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.

We believe in the one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen

Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world. I offer them for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart; the salvation of souls, reparation for sin, the reunion of all Christians. I offer them for the intentions of our Bishops and of all our associates, and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father this month. Amen

Evening Prayer

O God, I adore You, and I love You with all my heart. I thank You for having created me and saved me by Your grace, and for having preserved me during this day. I pray that You will take for Yourself whatever good I might have done this day, and that You will forgive me whatever evil I have done. Protect me this night, and may Your grace be with me always. Amen! (author unknown)

Act of Faith

O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the holy Catholic Church teaches, because you have revealed them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.

Act of Hope

O my God, relying on your almighty power and infinite mercy and promised, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of your grace and life everlasting; through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen

Act of Charity

O my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen

Act of Contrition – 1

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You, and I detest all my sins, because of your just punishments, but most of all because they offend You, my God, who are all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen! (author unknown)

Act of Contrition – 2

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you. And I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell. But most of all because they offend you, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life. Amen

Act of Contrition – 3

Forgive me my sins, o Lord, forgive me my sins, the sins of my youth, the sins of my age, the sins of my soul, the sins of my body, my idle sins, my serious voluntary sins, the sins I know, the sins I do not know, the sins I have concealed for so long and which are now hidden from my memory. I am truly sorry for every sin, mortal and venial, for all the sins of my childhood up to the present hour. I know my sins have wounded your tender heart, o my Savior. Le me be freed from the bonds of evil through the most bitter passion of my Redeemer. O my Jesus, forget and forgive what I have been. Amen.

Prayer for Souls

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen!

Prayer for Courage

Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous; teach me to serve You as You deserve; to give and not count the cost; to fight and not to heed the wounds; to toil and not to seek reward, except that of knowing that I do Your will. Amen! (author unknown)

My Gift

Lord, I freely yield all my freedom to you. Take my memory, my intellect, and my entire will. You have given me everything I am to have; I give it all back to you to stand under your will alone. Your love and your grace are enough for me. I shall ask for nothing more. Amen! (author unknown)

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope. where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen! (St. Francis)

Prayer to My Guardian Angel

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen

Prayer to St. Michael

St. Michael the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Prayer to Redeem Lost Time

O my God, source of all mercy! I acknowledge your sovereign power. While recalling the wasted years that are past, I believe that you, Lord, can in an instant turn this loss to gain. Miserable as I am, yet I firmly believe that you can do all things. Please restore to me the time lost, giving me by your grace, both now and in the future, that I may appear before you in ‘wedding garments.’ Amen (by St. Teresa of Avila)

Prayer for Healing, Grace and Forgiveness

Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, go back into my memory. Every hurt that has ever been done to me – heal that hurt. Every hurt that I have ever caused to another person – heal that hurt. All the relationships that have been damaged in my whole life that I am not aware of – heal those relationships.

But Lord, if there is anything that I need to do – if I need to go to a person because he is still suffering from my hand – bring to my awareness that person.

I chose to forgive and I ask to be forgiven. Remove whatever bitterness may be in my heart, Lord, and fill the empty spaces with your love. Thank you, Jesus. Amen

Prayer for Discernment in Life

All loving and gracious God, you know my inmost thoughts and you are familiar with all my ways. You have blessed me with many gifts and talents. Give me a share of your wisdom, show me your truth, and reveal to me the secrets of my own heart. May I have the courage to look, honestly and deeply, at the reality of my life so that I may faithfully follow you. Help me to see in myself what you see. And give me the courage to uncover both my strengths and weaknesses, and to know and follow your will for me each and every day of my life. Amen.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

We thank you, God for this time to appreciate your many gifts to us. We thank you, God, for our daily bread; for a roof over our heads. We thank you, God, for each other; for all who love us; and for all whom we love. We thank you, God, for the gift of life and for the gift of faith. Amen.
